Roblox's breakout hit 'Grow a Garden' is set for a theatrical film adaptation, marking the second title from the platform to transition to cinema in recent weeks. The farming simulator, which peaked at 22.3 million concurrent players after its March launch, will be developed by Story Kitchen in partnership with New Zealand's Splitting Point Studios.

The project leverages Roblox's massive built-in audience of 150 million daily active users, despite the game's lack of inherent narrative. Producers face the creative challenge of constructing a storyline around the repetitive gameplay loop of planting, harvesting, and selling crops.

Story Kitchen co-founder Dmitri Johnson revealed the film will follow urban children discovering a portal to the game world. 'We're crafting a family adventure that respects the source material while delivering emotional impact,' Johnson stated, emphasizing the adaptation's potential to resonate beyond the game's existing fanbase.
